About The Position
Our client is seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team in Malta. The role offers a mix of external audit and client accounting responsibilities, providing exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. The position is client-facing and offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and development. Both junior and senior candidates will be considered depending on experience and qualifications.
Requirements
- Previous experience in audit, accounting, or a similar role
- Ability to work in a client-facing environment and build professional relationships
- Fluent in both English and Maltese
- Ideally fully qualified or in the process of obtaining an accounting qualification
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proactive, professional, and team-oriented approach
Responsibilities
- Assisting with or leading external audit engagements for a portfolio of clients
- Preparing financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards
- Handling bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT returns, and other accounting-related tasks
- Liaising directly with clients on audit and accounting matters
- Supporting clients with day-to-day financial and compliance requirements
- Ensuring assignments are completed within agreed deadlines and professional standards
- Collaborating with internal teams to deliver a high level of client service
- Keeping up to date with accounting, audit, and regulatory developments
