About The Position

The Accountant supports the company’s financial operations through accurate and timely accounting, reporting, and compliance activities. The position assists with the month-end close, maintains account reconciliations, and supports tax and regulatory filings.

The role includes general accounting work, business license applications and renewals, sales and use tax filings across multiple jurisdictions, and annual personal property tax returns for physical locations. The Accountant maintains supporting documentation and trackers, collaborates across departments, and helps identify process improvements. Special projects related to the job may also be assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office, with moderate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Excellent organization, communication, and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask and meet specified filing deadlines.
• Willingness to contribute ideas and feedback about potential areas for improvement.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly close, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain schedules for balance sheet accounts.
• Support preparation of internal financial reports and variance analysis.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure financial accuracy and timely data flow.
• Help identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare and file business license applications and annual renewals as needed.
• Maintain an organized tracker of active and inactive licenses.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across various states and jurisdictions.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for tax filings and audits.
• Prepare and file annual personal property tax returns for physical locations across various states and jurisdictions.
• Maintain a list of properties and their related returns and payments.
• Complete special projects related to job duties as assigned.
