Join Velocity Electronics as an Accountant in Austin. This role involves performing a variety of accounting functions to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes, including month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and compiling data for tax filings. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in operational accounting and accounting services (AR, AP, etc.).
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong computer skills

Nice To Haves

• an advanced degree and/or active CPA license is preferred.
• experience with complex ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close duties while ensuring adherence to internal deadlines, company policies, and applicable accounting standards.
• Complete activities associated with tax filings as assigned.
• Support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and expense report processes.
• Assist in training team members as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly accrual-based financial statements and support schedules.
• Prepare account reconciliations, including identification and resolution of discrepancies.
• Assist in responding to year-end external audit inquiries.
• Seek management guidance to ensure all transactions are recorded appropriately in accordance with accounting standards and accurately reflect the activity and purpose of each account.
• Provide assistance with tasks related to establishing credit limits for new and existing business partners.
