Requirements

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in general ledger systems and spreadsheet applications.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
Ability to analyze financial data and communicate findings clearly.
A team player who values collaboration and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Prior experience in a credit union or financial institution is a plus!

Responsibilities

Maintain the Credit Union’s accounting records in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
Review, verify, and prepare journal entries, account classifications, and reconciliations.
Prepare financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and other accounting reports.
Analyze and interpret financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Process accounts payable and expense transactions; maintain organized records and files.
Manage and monitor cash balances and assist with ordering cash as needed.
Partner with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy.
Support month-end closing processes and produce timely management reports.
Keep leadership informed of key accounting activities and findings.
