About The Position

Open Door Mission is seeking an experienced Accountant to start as soon as possible! This person will provide accounting/bookkeeping support for the CFO in the areas of payroll, accounts payable, and other financial areas as needed. Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission founded in 1954 committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Each day, Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe, shelter beds to people experiencing homelessness, serves over 4,747 nutritious meals to feed the hungry, and provides homeless preventive resources to more than 1,000 people living in poverty to empower them to remain in their own homes. At Open Door Mission, they believe in coming alongside people experiencing homelessness and poverty, empathizing with their situation and speaking truth into their lives—that they are worthy, valued and created in the image of God. It’s their passion, their calling, and they have been doing it since 1954. In 2024, their impact included providing 195,125 nights of safe shelter, serving 2.0 million nutritious meals, empowering 33,123 individuals to remain in their own homes and preventing homelessness, celebrating 77 graduates from life-changing programs, helping 311 individuals achieve stable housing, providing a Learning Center and Tutoring Lab for 94 children, and assisting 404 men and women in finding employment.

Requirements

  • You have a visible relationship with Christ
  • You are proficient with Google G-Suite and general computer operations
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in an accounting field.
  • You are able to effectively communicate and posses human relations skills.
  • You are an advanced or above level in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.

Nice To Haves

  • Has two or more years of accounting experience.
  • Has the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Has task flexibility skills.

Responsibilities

  • LLC Financial Statements
  • Reconciling Bank Accounts and G/L Accounts
  • Process Health Insurance Claims.
  • Receive rents, report past dues.
  • Year end 1099, 1098 reports.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Assist in all accounting functions: general ledger, budget and cash flow.
