About The Position

Brixey & Meyer is hiring an Accountant for its CFO Services Team to provide outsourced accounting solutions to a diverse range of clients. The role supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger activity, and financial reporting, often at client sites. The Accountant balances needs across multiple client engagements while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Work takes place across remote, client-site, and in-office environments. The candidate must reside in the Tampa, Florida metro area and have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, as client sites may be up to one hour away.

Requirements

Must reside in the Tampa, Florida metro area.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and Intacct.
Experience or interest in leveraging automation and AI-based tools.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; client sites may be up to one hour away.
Strong attention to detail and ability to balance multiple engagements.
Strong interpersonal skills for working with clients and team members.
Positive, team-focused attitude and interest in meaningful work.

Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable, including vendor setup, invoice entry, and payment processing.
Handle accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash applications, and collections.
Monitor client cash positions and forecast future cash requirements.
Maintain charts of accounts and oversee general ledger activities.
Complete month-end closes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Perform budget-versus-actual variance analysis.
Process client payroll.
Research and resolve discrepancies or missing data with clients.
Work effectively across remote, client-site, and in-office environments.
Meet or exceed annual chargeable-hours goals.
Support other projects and tasks as assigned.
