About The Position

As our Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial strength and stewardship that make this work possible. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented accounting professional who wants to be more than a back-office contributor. This role serves as the organization's primary accounting professional, working directly with the Executive Director and leadership team to ensure financial integrity, support strategic decision-making, and help maximize our impact throughout the communities we serve. Requirements
- Three or more years of progressive accounting experience utilizing generally accepted accounting principles.
- Experience managing month-end close processes
- Financial statement preparation experience
- Strong general ledger and reconciliation skills
- Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis experience
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

- Government reimbursement billing experience
- QuickBooks experience
- CPA or other accounting credential
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare monthly financial statements and analyses (including GL reconciliations, journal entries, government billing, AP/AR oversight, and Board Reporting ) using GAAP
- Develop budget-to-actual reporting and provide insights to leadership
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
- Manage restricted funds and grant accounting
- Monitor allowable expenditures and grant balances
- Prepare reimbursement requests and required financial reports
- Ensure compliance with funding requirements
- Process payroll and related financial reporting
- Oversee cash management activities and banking relationships
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures
- Coordinate annual audit preparation
- Assist with Form 990, Form 5500, and regulatory reporting
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and GAAP
- Serve as a member of the leadership team
- Communicate financial information to non-financial audiences
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
- Support organizational initiatives and special projects
