About The Position

ADP is hiring an Accountant. The Accountant is competent to work on moderately complex accounting activities which includes maintaining the general ledger, reviewing and verifying the accuracy of journal entries and vouchers and in analyzing various P-L accounts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent in education and experience
• 1-3 years general accounting experience with a proven proficiency in performing complex accounting activities

Nice To Haves

• Accounting degree preferred
• Ability to use Microsoft Office based applications and have a solid knowledge of systems impacting/interfacing all department processes and G/L.
• SAP, Oracle GL, MS-SQL, Visual Basic experience a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and keep supervision informed
• Ability to drive special projects
• Ability to express understanding of global business processes
• Ability to independently work with Banks, Regions and other ADP departments to escalate and resolve defects/exceptions, including Executive Management.
• Ability to develop and implement process improvements with proven methodologies.
• Ability to understand and effectively articulate all issues and exceptions impacting clients with viable solutions to all including Executive Management
• Ability to drive special projects to a successful completion and contribute in meetings

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements.
• Classifies, examines and analyzes accounting records and prepares related financial reports and statements.
• Prepares standard and specialized financial reports (e.g.. balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements.
• Complies and analyzes financial information to prepare entries into accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documents business transactions.
• Establishes, maintains and coordinates the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
• Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced Accountants.
