About The Position

Matrix Sciences helps food companies deliver safe, quality products to market. We offer laboratory testing, research, advisory, and data services that help clients stop contamination and meet high-quality standards. We operate 20 sites across four business lines and are growing quickly through organic expansion and acquisitions. We're looking for an Accountant who enjoys combining strong fundamentals with technology and process improvement. This role will support our NetSuite ERP, automation tools, payroll systems, and reporting platforms while contributing to day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience with a strong understanding of general ledger mapping.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP accounting system (NetSuite preferred) and comfort with ERP system troubleshooting.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Able to manage assigned projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, presentation experience, and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative mindset and curiosity for how systems can make accounting smarter and faster.
• Supports team success by communicating clearly and pitching in on tasks outside core duties as needed.
• Demonstrate initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Zone and/or Power BI (or similar BI reporting tools) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with AP processes including vendor management, invoice review, and payment processing.
• Prepare account reconciliations (such as cash, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets), book accruals, and support variance analysis.
• Analyze monthly financial data, identify trends, and support management reporting.
• Evaluate key performance indicators during the close cycle to provide useful business insights.
• Work with Finance, Operations and IT to troubleshoot, document, and optimize accounting systems and processes.
