About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with specialized expertise in payroll management. This role will be responsible for managing comprehensive payroll functions across multiple companies while supporting general accounting operations and ensuring compliance with healthcare industry regulations and employment laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing
  • Proficiency in ADP WFN
  • Advanced Excel skills and database management
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Effective communication skills for employee interactions
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Customer service orientation for internal employee support
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong mathematical and computational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with healthcare or professional services industry preferred
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification or willingness to obtain
  • Familiarity with benefits administration
  • QuickBooks experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for employees
  • Manage complex physician compensation structures and contractor payments
  • Calculate and process overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other variable compensation
  • Administer payroll deductions including benefits, taxes, garnishments, and retirement contributions
  • Ensure accurate time and attendance tracking integration with payroll systems
  • Manage payroll tax filings and compliance (federal, state, and local)
  • Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, and status changes
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare industry employment regulations
  • Support workers' compensation and unemployment insurance reporting
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Support month-end close processes and journal entries
  • Prepare payroll-related financial reporting and analysis
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Support audit processes and provide requested documentation
