About The Position

This Accountant position is primarily responsible for performing financial accounting functions related to affiliate revenue recognition, cash accounts and reporting for 10-Q and 10-K filings. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing journal entries, analyzing monthly results, completing account reconciliations, preparing monthly financial statements, company coordinator and footnote responsibilities for quarterly reporting, providing accounting guidance to those outside of Accounting, and maintaining processes documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • 1 – 3 years. of accounting experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) is required.
  • Experience with MS Office (specifically Excel) is required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking, initiative-taking critical thinking skills, and excellent follow through.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills within team and Executive management.
  • Excellent team interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Active CPA license is preferred.
  • Experience in performing analysis on financial transactions and results is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is a plus.
  • Experience with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP is a plus.
  • Experience with Workiva is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Accounting related to affiliate revenues, cash management and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly accounting entries and related reconciliations in accordance with GAAP, FERC, & SEC
  • Prepare various internal accounting and financial reports.
  • Provide accounting research, information and assistance for special projects and data requests.
  • Maintain current documentation of accounting processes.
  • Ensure internal controls surrounding responsibilities are adequate and functioning.
  • Prepare monthly accounting entries and properly maintain supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules, tie-outs, and documentation used in developing 10-Q and 10-K filings and earnings reporting
  • Company coordinator responsibilities for quarterly reporting
