About The Position

The position will work within the Research & Economic Development office managing expenditures for units within REDD. The Accountant will be responsible for budget management, specializing in specific departments and/or expenditure types depending on unit needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or MIS/Accounting or Finance or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1 year work-related experience
• Must be eligible to work in the United States, as sponsorship for any work authorization or work visas is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Manage fiscal items for units within Research & Economic Development Division. This includes managing contracts, procuring equipment/supplies and processing travel expenses, requisitions and reconciling procurement cards.
• Manage assigned grants by establishing account structures, monitoring expenditures and balances, processing expenses, preparing financial reports, and communicating with principal investigators.
• Prepare and deliver financial reports to staff, directors, and division leadership, providing transparency into state and indirect cost funding while performing analysis and interpretation to support informed decision-making.
• Perform administrative tasks related to special projects, maintenance and improvement of systems and processes, maintenance and review of business practices, procedures & policies which impact unit operations.
• Forecast and manage department budgets and grants after reconciliation of revenue and expenses to ensure units stay within established budgets.
