About The Position

The Accountant is a professional who is responsible for a wide variety of finance-related tasks that are primarily associated with preparing financial records including, but not limited to, recording, reconciling, reporting, and analyzing financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Requirements

  • Must be able to interact with a variety of individuals at various levels under stressful circumstances while exercising sound judgement, tact, and diplomacy; work productively both independently and in a team setting; communicate with clarity, both verbally and in writing to groups and individuals.
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree
  • Prefer a minimum of two to five years of accounting/finance experience
  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Skills to intervene and promote reconciliation, compromise, and positive outcomes in difficult interactions
  • Must have the ability to communicate with clarity, both verbally and in writing; read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, regulations, policies, and procedure manuals; and create professional business documents.
  • Must have the ability to add; subtract; multiply; use percentages, fractions, decimals; interpret numeric graphs; and apply basic algebra, geometry, and statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining regular, consistent, and predictable punctuality and attendance, including being available, accessible, and able to complete all required essential functions and assigned job tasks onsite as directed during your regularly assigned schedule or your assigned site(s) normal business hours.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
  • Assists in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Provides accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and implements improvements to processes.
  • Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting internal control procedures.
  • Collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
  • Prepares financial cost reports for outside agencies and submits them in a timely manner.
  • Works closely with independent auditors for the annual audit of financial statements and prepares documents to substantiate the account balances.
  • Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, capital, and prepares Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for Board of Directors and other managers.
  • Keeps up to date on new accounting rules, standards, and procedures and informs the accounting department and implements any changes.
  • Understands the accounts payable cycle and accounts receivable deadlines and assists Accounting Manager in ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Performs data entry relative to designated accounts utilizing organizational structure.
  • Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Completes assigned trainings via La Clinica’s learning module system (Relias) by required due date.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Develops and maintains professional, support-oriented working relationships with patients, team members, and community partners.
