About The Position

Under general supervision, performs professional accounting work related to the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of revenue ledgers for agency funds for the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (DFPR). Utilizes applicable accounting systems and source documentation to prepare, examine, reconcile, and analyze refunds and credits. Maintains complex and complete set of general account books by fund for the license area. Prepares and reconciles daily manual deposits. Responds to accounts receivable related inquiries from management, auditors, and licensees. Analyzes and evaluates, on an on-going basis, the operational aspect for Accounts Receivable for the purpose of updating effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, with courses in business administration and accounting or four years of technical accounting experience.
  • Requires the ability to pass an Agency conducted background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar.
  • Prefers at least four years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Prefers active licensure as a Certified Public Accountant or Registered Public Accountant.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes applicable accounting systems and source documentation to prepare, examine, reconcile, and analyze refunds and credits.
  • Maintains complex and complete set of general account books by fund for the license area.
  • Prepares and reconciles daily manual deposits with departmental fiscal records to ensure proper fund distribution and completion of fiscal statements documenting proper fund allocation for appropriate fiscal clearing accounts.
  • Responds to accounts receivable related inquiries from management, auditors, and licensees.
  • Analyzes and evaluates, on an on-going basis, the operational aspect for Accounts Receivable for the purpose of updating effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
