About The Position

Novelis is seeking a (Senior) Accountant (m/f/d) for a fixed term of 12 months to join their European Headquarter in Küsnacht, Switzerland. This role is crucial for ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality US GAAP financial reporting across a portfolio of 12 reporting entities. The position also involves acting as the European subject matter expert for OneStream, providing technical accounting expertise, managing audits, and acting as Controller for Novelis AG, directing cost analysis, financial planning, and forecasting. The company is a global leader in innovative aluminum products and the world's largest recycler of aluminum, partnering with customers in the automotive, beverage can, aerospace, and specialties industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; advanced professional qualifications are an asset
  • Extensive experience in Finance and Accounting, preferably within shared service or outsourced delivery environments.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP, OneStream, and MS Office, with the ability to leverage digital tools to improve reporting and process effectiveness.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and Swiss GAAP; working knowledge of IFRS is advantageous.
  • Verbal and written fluency required in English – knowledge of German is a plus
  • Communicate confidently and effectively with a wide range of people (multinational and all levels of the organization)
  • Must be authorized to work in Switzerland without employment sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate month end close and consolidation activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and high quality US GAAP financial reporting across a portfolio of 12 reporting entities
  • Serve as the European subject matter expert for OneStream, enabling robust consolidation, account reconciliation excellence, and system enhancements including automation initiatives.
  • Provide advanced technical accounting expertise, including contract assessments, application of complex accounting guidance, and embedded derivative evaluations.
  • Review Novelis AG’s financial statements (US GAAP & Swiss GAAP), including SOX and policy compliance
  • Manage quarterly reviews and year end audits with external auditors, delivering high quality submissions and driving timely resolution of issues.
  • Act as Controller for Novelis AG (European HQ), directing cost analysis, financial planning, and forecasting to support strategic and operational decision making.
  • Propose process improvements and automate existing processes
