About The Position

Our client is a growing US-based construction company that has recently migrated from QuickBooks to Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum ERP to enhance job costing, improve reporting accuracy, and increase operational visibility across projects. The accounting function is currently led by a very hands-on Controller/Accounting Lead who manages the full finance operation internally. Since the transition to Spectrum, both workload and process complexity have increased significantly, creating an immediate need for an experienced accounting professional who can work independently within the ERP environment. At present, the business still relies heavily on manual accounting processes, Excel-based workflows, and detailed multi-level coding structures linked to construction job costing. Previous temporary hires did not have the required Spectrum expertise, which led to operational bottlenecks and increased training demands on leadership. This position is a key long-term hire designed to strengthen the accounting function by improving stability, accuracy, and day-to-day operational support within the team. We are seeking an experienced Accountant or Bookkeeper with strong, hands-on expertise in Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum ERP. Please note, this is not a general accounting role — proven Spectrum experience is absolutely essential. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction accounting processes, including job costing structures and complex coding within Spectrum, and will be able to step into the role with minimal onboarding or training. You will work closely with the Accounting Lead to support day-to-day financial operations, including supplier invoice processing, accurate coding, reconciliations, and overall financial data management. This is a full-time, long-term remote opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who can independently manage accounting workflows with a high level of accuracy and consistency.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience using Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum ERP
  • Solid understanding of construction accounting principles, including: Job costing, Construction accounting workflows, Multi-level coding structures (cost centers, jobs, phases, approvers)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal to no training on core accounting principles
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
  • Advanced Excel skills (data handling, tracking, reconciliations)
  • Ability to work full-time aligned with US business hours

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within construction, contracting, or project-based accounting environments
  • Previous exposure supporting US-based businesses in a remote capacity
  • Familiarity with manual accounts payable and accounting workflows
  • Experience working in or supporting ERP system migrations, transitions, or implementations (e.g., from legacy systems to modern ERP platforms)

Responsibilities

  • Process supplier bills, invoices, expenses, and other accounting transactions within Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum ERP
  • Apply accurate multi-level coding, including cost centers, jobs, phases, and approvers
  • Support end-to-end construction and job costing accounting workflows within Spectrum
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist with regular reconciliations
  • Work effectively within highly manual accounting processes and Excel-based workflows
  • Ensure strict coding accuracy to minimise downstream reporting and job costing errors
  • Assist with accounting clean-up initiatives and ongoing process improvements
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounting Lead on daily priorities and operational requirements
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy
