About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is hiring an Accountant to support its Business Management Organization at its Melbourne, Florida facilities. The position is onsite and supports customer billing, receivables, cash forecasting, banking and treasury requirements, and billing audits for government and commercial contracts. The role may require travel 10% of the time. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; no clearance is required to start.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field and 2 years of accounting experience, or a Master’s degree in accounting or finance with stated experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work onsite in Melbourne, Florida.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Government contracting experience.
• Familiarity with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and IFRS.
• Exposure to financial reporting systems, particularly SAP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit customer billings.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare government and commercial billings, including cost-type, time-and-material, firm-fixed-price progress payments, milestones, and performance-based payments.
• Perform detailed analysis of billings and collections in support of NGAS Business Sector contracts.
• Maintain and oversee collection of aged billed receivables.
• Monitor miscellaneous accounts receivable reporting and resolve payment issues.
• Analyze unbilled balances.
• Support monthly cash collection and forecasting goals.
• Interface with internal and external customers.
• Support banking and treasury requirements.
• Support DCAA incurred-cost and billing audits.
• Complete special projects as needed.
