Basic Purpose: Supports the Finance team by handling diverse financial tasks like AP/AR, journal entries, bank reconciliations, month-end close support and internal controls. This role ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all accounts receivable and payable while maintaining Four Seasons’ high standards of financial integrity and guest service.

Requirements

  • High school/college education or equivalent experience
  • Minimum three to 12 months experience in related position
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English
  • Ability to operate computer equipment and Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring all vendor payments are made correctly and with the correct authorization (approved PO), evidence of receipt and invoice.
  • Assist in processing invoices and manual cheques through the procurement system.
  • Ensure that all vendors are paid according to the agreed terms and to Four Seasons policies and procedures.
  • Maintain, and constantly update, an approved vendor listing file.
  • Investigate and respond to all incoming calls for receivables and to assist the Credit Manager in the research for all requests for Account Receivable.
  • Prepare the hotel’s daily bank deposits and control all house funds, cash counts of all issued banks, and report any discrepancies to the Staff Accountant.
  • Responsible for coordinating and supporting our offshore AP, Income Audit, and Payroll teams as needed.
  • Assist with Month-End Close.
  • Answer telephones and record messages accurately.
  • File documents and reports.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance.
  • Assist with any internal or ownership audit requests and research.
  • Assist with any special projects as designated by the Director of Finance or the Assistant Director of Finance.
  • Verify that all invoices are supported by duly approved purchase orders when required, signed receiving documentation and/or the approval of authorized management personnel.
  • Maintain control and accuracy of all House funds issued from the Cash Machine.
  • Assist Credit Manager with maintaining accurate Accounts Receivable records.
  • Maintain harmonious and professional relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
  • Assist in other areas of the accounting office as needed.
