Job PurposeThe Staff Accountant will provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. The candidate will also be involved in various projects as assigned and assisting with continuous process improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Up to three years of accounting experience
Working knowledge of accounting concepts, GAAP and internal control (SOX) compliance
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely and accurately
Ability to identify improvement opportunities within processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners through effective communication
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, etc.)

Nice To Haves

CPA preferred
Public accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

Prepares general ledger entries
Maintains records and files
Prepares reconciliations of accounts; researches and interprets data for reconciling items
Develops understanding of each account assigned to identify issues or unusual activity
Gathers information from the general ledger, financial systems and other department reports to prepare reports to be distributed within and outside of accounting
Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information
Adheres to internal controls within applicable accounting processes
Project work as assigned
