Garaventa Lift is seeking an Accountant to join and support our finance team. Reporting to Assistant Controller, this role supports a variety of accounting functions, including cost and inventory analysis, fixed assets, month-end close, and selected accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. The ideal candidate is analytical, detailed-oriented and organized with strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in BBA or Accounting
- Enrollment in the CPA program or recent CPA graduate
- A minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing and construction companies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Database, especially Excel including Pivot Tables, Power Query, Marco, etc.
- Experience using Syteline and QuickBooks or equivalent ERP systems
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well in teams
- Strong communication verbal and written skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of IFRS and public company reporting is an asset
Responsibilities
- Product cost and inventory analysis
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice, credit note processing and payment tracking
- Oversee fixed asset accounting activities, including asset additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations
- Maintain and update financial records using Syteline and QuickBooks
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as needed
- Other duties as required by the Group Controller and Assistant Controller
