About The Position

As our next Accountant, you’ll be at the forefront of maintaining accurate financial and accounting systems that support operational excellence and sound business decision-making. Your expertise in financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory analysis, and financial controls will be critical in ensuring the integrity of financial data and supporting manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience with costing and inventory accounting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and organizational levels

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuit of CPA designation preferred
  • Manufacturing accounting experience considered an asset
  • Experience in manufacturing or automotive environments
  • Fixed asset accounting experience
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Experience supporting audit activities and financial controls
  • Continuous improvement or process optimization experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting systems and financial records
  • Support the development and maintenance of production costing methodologies and standards
  • Analyze inventory, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and production performance metrics
  • Maintain customer pricing records and accounts receivable sub-ledgers
  • Review freight invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions for accuracy and completeness
  • Research, resolve, and document discrepancies in financial transactions
  • Maintain fixed asset records, schedules, forecasts, additions, disposals, and audits
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Support the preparation of annual business plans, budgets, and quarterly forecasts
  • Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial investigations
  • Assist with internal, external, interim, and year-end audit requirements
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within accounting and finance processes
  • Support compliance with quality, environmental, and safety management systems
