About The Position

The Accountant will be responsible for preparing and entering journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and recording transactions in foreign currencies, including calculating exchange gains/losses. This role involves performing advanced financial and variance analysis to answer management questions during month-end close, calculating and recording accruals/prepayments, and communicating effectively with international branches. The Accountant will also create detailed spreadsheets, write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals, and assist with month-end close tasks. A working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and systems is expected, along with a continuous expansion of accounting knowledge. This position requires establishing and maintaining effective relationships with staff, vendors, and other business contacts, and responding timely to requests with complete information and/or resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum two years’ general accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to set and track goals
  • Must be ethical
  • Detailed and thorough in work habits with multi-tasking ability
  • Ability and desire to follow precise instructions
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation, organizational and teaching skills
  • Ability and/or experience to read, analyze and interpret government rules and regulations, technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
  • Ability and/or experience to write reports, business correspondence, articles and presentations
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and telephone etiquette
  • Able to communicate with people at all levels
  • Able to type data and use PC for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license a plus
  • PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment with an advanced knowledge of Excel and Power Point preferred
