As an Accountant, you play a critical role in building and maintaining the financial foundation of our growing manufacturing operation. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting month-end close activities, managing key accounting processes, and providing meaningful financial insights to business leaders. Working closely with operations, procurement, order management, and corporate finance teams, you'll help drive financial accuracy, maintain strong internal controls, and support informed decision-making across the organization. Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on, progressive accounting experience, ideally within the manufacturing or production sector.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP S4/HANA (This is mandatory) with hands-on experience in FI/CO.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS with proven knowledge in revenue recognition and tax-related accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to execute full month-end closes in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a start-up-like environment where processes are still forming.
  • Must possess a strong internal controls mindset focused on controls rigor, and data integrity.
  • Willingness to accommodate different time zones and work closely with international teams (mostly Germany).

Nice To Haves

  • IFRS knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience in process improvement, financial analysis, or exposure to BI/ETL tools (e.g., Tableau, VBA, Python) is a plus.
  • Prior experience supporting external financial audits is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the monthly closing process to meet close deadlines.
  • Own the integrity of the general ledger, coordinating proactively with responsible parties of relevant subledgers (A/P, A/R, fixed assets, inventory) to identify, research, and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support standard cost rollups, variance analysis, and inventory valuation processes.
  • Actively manage fixed asset accounting, including Construction-in-Progress (CIP) tracking, depreciation schedules, capitalization, and asset disposal.
  • Maintain accurate intercompany balances, prepare reconciliations across related entities, and ensure alignment with HQ in Germany and Canada.
  • Support intercompany transactions, including loan accounting, and cross-entity charges.
  • Participate in and support the ongoing SAP S4/HANA enhancements, ensuring correct accounting configuration and control alignment.
  • Maintain financial data integrity within the SAP S4/HANA system.
  • Ensure all accounting practices adhere strictly to GAAP and IFRS where applicable.
  • Design, execute, and document internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) relevant to A/P, A/R, fixed assets, and inventory.
  • Perform periodic control self-assessments, maintain SOX-ready documentation (if applicable), and escalate control gaps or exceptions to the Head of Finance.
  • Act as the primary liaison for tax-related tasks, owning the communication process with external tax consultants and internal corporate teams.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for external audit requests.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all open items are cleared or explained within policy timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with the Order Management and Sales teams to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and control setups across A/R, A/P, depreciation schedules, and profit center/cost center (CC) structure.
  • Support the department in building basic visibility tools (Excel or Power BI) for tracking plant performance and cost variances.
