About The Position

The Accountant II will play a key role within the accounting and finance team, supporting the execution of accounting procedures to ensure the company’s books and records are maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger and related transactions, and assisting in the design and implementation of controls for the company’s SOX program. Additional responsibilities include supporting ad hoc accounting projects, internal controls, regulatory and compliance reporting, technical accounting research, accrual analysis, and performing monthly account reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • 2+ years’ accounting experience
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet communication deadlines
  • Adherence to policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end, quarterly and year-end close processes
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation, including accounting for prepaid expenses and other current assets, pass-through transactions (e.g. property and sale taxes) and lessee accounting transactions (such as Right of Use lease assets and operating lease liabilities)
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations across numerous banks
  • Prepare and process customer payments received via ACH, and wire payments daily
  • Analyze accounting records for discrepancies, research unusual items, and implement corrections to preserve data integrity across the general ledger
  • Prepare account reconciliations and upload recons to FloQast timely
  • Prepare the weekly (and eventually daily) reconciliation of loan & finance lease net investment as well as operating lease net investment
  • Ensure accuracy, validity, and completeness of all documentation necessary to meet organizational, industry, and government regulatory requirements
  • Assist with transition of Fixed Assets accounting to shared service team
  • Support audits, quarterly and year‑end financial processes
  • Update process and procedure documentations to keep them current
  • Collaborate with the corporate accounting team to resolve outstanding issues as they arise
  • Complete all regulatory training as required in a timely manner
