About The Position

This is a temporary position with the Office of State Human Resources, Temporary Solutions division. The role is classified as Accountant II (S) and is located at 114 W Edenton Street in Wake County with the Department of Justice. The hourly rate of pay is $22.00, based on education and/or years of relevant work experience. This position offers no leave or retirement benefits, but temporary employees working an average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their current position to work in a temporary role and are limited to one temporary assignment at a time. Individuals hired into temporary State jobs must be fully qualified. OSHR supports the Governor's Job Ready initiative, aiming to expand temporary skill sets for future employment in State government and private sector jobs. Exposure to an agency's culture, processes, and procedures can provide valuable experience for those seeking permanent employment with the state.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution with 18 semester hours of accounting coursework; and two years of professional accounting/auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive or analytical accounting, financial statements and reports; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
