About The Position

This is a temporary position with the Office of State Human Resources, Temporary Solutions division, classified as Accountant II (S) and assigned Position Number Grade NC14. The agency's mission is to provide a solid Human Resource management foundation, responsible oversight, and creative solutions through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to maximize the potential of its employees. This temporary role is located at 114 W Edenton Street in Wake County with the Department of Justice. The hourly rate of pay is $22.00, based on education and/or years of relevant work experience. Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their current position to work in a temporary role, and all temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time. Individuals hired into temporary State jobs must be fully qualified. OSHR supports the Governor's Job Ready initiative, aiming to enhance temporary employees' skill sets for future State government and private sector jobs, offering exposure to agency culture, processes, and procedures as potential learning opportunities for those seeking permanent employment with the state.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution with 18 semester hours of accounting coursework; and two years of professional accounting/auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive or analytical accounting, financial statements and reports; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
