About The Position

Responsible for various accounting functions within the Bank and Company. This role involves performing tasks independently with moderate supervision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established internal controls and procedures.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance required or 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution.
Professional level of knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate accounting issues to employees, management and outside vendors.
Good analytical skills required to analyze financial and procedural data.
Adequate knowledge of internal policies and procedures and any respective laws and regulations governing accounting functions to ensure performance of job duties within the proper control environment.

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing various accounting functions as assigned in accordance with internal controls, procedures and policies of the accounting department.
Assist in the month-end closing process, including variance analysis and the preparation and recording of recurring journal entries.
Prepares general ledger account reconciliations as assigned.
Prepares various financial statements, reports and analysis as requested.
Processes specialized accounting procedures and transactions.
Reviews data contained in the general ledger and various sub-systems to ensure accuracy and reasonableness of recorded financial transactions. Research and resolves question regarding general ledger information from personnel.
Provide backup for various accounting functions as needed to ensure continuity of operations. Completes required training associated with job functions to stay updated on best practices and compliance requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the accounting department.
