About The Position

Zachry Group is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform the functions of Lease Accounting within the Fixed Asset Team. Highly organized, an ability to manage multiple projects within set deadlines, ability to meet month-end close deadlines, and ensure the smooth operation of Lease Accounting. Ability to build on-going cooperation with other departments and a range of internal and external stakeholders will be essential in the success of this role.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the Accounting field
• Proficient in researching on the internet
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Values ethics, professionalism, and maintains confidentiality
• Time Management

Nice To Haves

• Asset accounting experience
• General knowledge of, or experience working in, the Industrial Construction industry

Responsibilities

• Oversight on all aspects of New Lease Accounting (ASC 842)
• Solid understanding and application of the new lease accounting criteria
• Strong knowledge in identification of embedded leases
• Review initial lease assessment for new leases
• Review proper treatment for the leases (finance vs. operating)
• Review the individual lease checklist against the sub-ledger
• Review lease sub-ledger vs. general ledger roll-forward
• Record transactions and provide an auditable accounting trail
• Share point and JLL - Ensure all leases are accounted for on a frequently basis
• Communication – Contact lease owners of any missing information
• Master Summary – Update report with new and retired leases
• Arms report - Update report with new and retired leases
• Perform journal entries
• Scan documents and file in shared drive
• Other duties, as assigned
