About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing and reconciling data for posting to the general ledger and other financial statements. The Accountant II prepares and reconciles data for posting to financial statements including balance sheet, profit and loss, subsidiary statements, etc. Reviews and analyzes general ledger account balances for accuracy and makes recommendations for corrections. Evaluates financial reports and records to verify accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. Performs monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Prepares accurate and timely reports and accounting statements for management. Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, and other commitments used in predicting future revenues and expenses. Reports financial information to management and offers suggestions regarding resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports to determine and/or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization. Follows and suggests established regulations, guidelines, policies, procedures, etc. to ensure compliance to general accounting practices. May be assigned additional duties and/or special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 2-4 years accounting experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • High degree of confidentiality needed due to the nature of the information with which this position works.

Nice To Haves

  • preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP system.
