About The Position

This position is responsible for reconciliation of all operational bank accounts at the university, including the accounts for Off Campus Housing. Responsibilities include the following accounting functions; prepare general ledger entries, prepare ad hoc bank transactions, reconcile and analyze bank account transactions, complete account reconciliations, prepare reports for auditors, analyze and make decisions on exception items including positive pay, returned payments, and unidentified transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Relevant Experience (1 Year)

  • Banking or account reconciliation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain working knowledge of Bank Reconciliation procedures and systems.
  • Reconcile bank accounts to Workday transactions.
  • Research discrepancies and resolve with departments.
  • Ensure compliance with University policies.
  • Provide professional service to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide recommendations to update policy and procedures.
  • Manage bank exceptions such as foreign checks, returned payments, and positive pay exceptions.
  • Review positive pay for potential fraud and report to management.
  • Prepare journal entries and ad hoc bank transactions in Workday.
  • Analyze various daily exception reports to ensure compliance, complete account reconciliations and review account analysis.
  • Prepare monthly review of credit card activity.
  • Analyze fees and ensure fees are in-line with contracted rates.
  • Prepare allocations when needed to charge departments.
  • Analyze activity for fraud.
  • Assist with fiscal year-end, prepare schedules and assist with gathering, analyzing and compiling information.
  • Work with and provide information to external and internal auditors as requested.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
