About The Position

Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) provides high-speed Internet and other telecommunications services to customers in the Mid-Atlantic, with a focus on rural communities. Its brands include Shentel, Glo Fiber, Shentel Business, and Glo Fiber Business.

The Accountant I, Treasury reports to the Manager, Treasury. The position performs standard accounting analyses to support the monthly closing process, including preparing and posting journal entries and preparing account reconciliations. The ideal candidate has experience creating cash receipts journal entries from multiple payment streams and performing bank account reconciliations.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience.
• ERP experience.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.

• Accredited associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; the posting states this as the minimum preferred educational qualification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare account reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Analyze revenue and expense streams.
• Analyze intercompany allocation factors and accounts monthly.
• Run reports to generate month-end journal entries and review reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Follow, support, and enforce internal control processes and procedures.
• Observe company safety procedures.
• Demonstrate stewardship of the Shentel brand and embody the Shentel Way by ensuring appropriate use of the brand, including its name, logo, company image, appearance, and attitude, within the team and organization.
