About The Position

Perform professional accounting duties involving the general ledgers, accounts receivable, cash receipts and other areas as required; communicate the results of operations both orally and in writing; work with college personnel and outside agencies to establish and maintain grants and programs.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).
  • Knowledge of Generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Principles and practices of budgeting and financial auditing.
  • Knowledge of Modern office methods, practices, procedures and computer equipment.
  • Knowledge of Governmental accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Financial research and report preparation methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Laws regulating public finance and fiscal operations.
  • Knowledge of Automated accounting and financial management systems.
  • Knowledge of College policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to develop and implement accounting system modifications.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and accounting records.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of complex financial statements, reports and analysis.
  • Ability to develop and administer an efficient records management system.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret, explain, and enforce CCC&TI policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Ability to utilize computer equipment and software to produce complex reports, informational items, tracking systems and related documents.
  • Ability to examine and verify a wide variety of financial documents and reports.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Three years of full-time increasingly responsible professional accounting experience is required.
  • A bachelors' degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (UDDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with major course work in accounting, business administration or a related field required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of, monitor, and manage operating, project, and grant budgets.
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare reports and reimbursement request for all grants.
  • Ensure accurate accounting, reconciliations, and audit-ready records.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly budget reports for grants and special projects.
  • Ensure financial compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and sponsor requirements.
  • Support proposal budgeting, reporting, and audit activities.
  • Collaborate with leadership, faculty, industry partners, and customers.
  • Work collaboratively and closely with administrative assistants to complete financial and operational tasks.
  • Participate in professional development activities and required employee training.
  • May assist in the registration of students when necessary.
  • Attend a variety of workshops and meetings; stay abreast of new developments in the field of accounting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
