About The Position

This is a Contract position based out of Mishawaka, IN. The role involves a variety of financial analysis and accounting tasks, including financial data analysis, financial statement and report preparation, capital budget coordination, forecast and projection preparation, financial audit participation, general ledger account reconciliations, financial trend analysis, month-end financial close, cost accounting and decision support improvements, and general financial analysis. The position requires providing financial analysis, reporting, and presentations to management to support budgeting, forecasting, operational planning, and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related area
  • 5+ years accounting/finance experience that includes: Corporate Finance / Accounting / Excel / PowerPoint / Budgeting & Forecasting

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and maintain cost accounting data to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial information.
  • Review financial performance related to transactions, capital investments, new ventures, equipment purchases, and other business initiatives.
  • Respond to financial data inquiries from sites and corporate departments.
  • Prepare trial balances, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
  • Enter and post financial information into accounting and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate capital budgeting and allocation activities.
  • Review financial models, budget presentations, and business cases to support optimal resource allocation and profitability.
  • Gather and analyze historical financial data.
  • Develop financial forecasts and projections to support annual planning and decision-making.
  • Support internal and external financial audits.
  • Research auditor inquiries and prepare reconciliations, work papers, and supporting schedules.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Prepare and analyze financial trend reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages.
  • Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecast and provide business explanations for key variances.
  • Develop financial projections and recast financial statements.
  • Perform variance analysis, investigate financial irregularities, and recommend process improvements.
  • Provide financial analysis, reporting, and presentations to management.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, operational planning, and strategic decision-making.
