About The Position

Join our dynamic finance team as an Accountant / Bookkeeper, where your expertise will drive the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting our organization’s financial health. You will be instrumental in maintaining meticulous financial data, performing detailed reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting processes that keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP, and governmental accounting practices.
  • Experience with a variety of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP or Paychex.
  • Proficiency in financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, debits & credits, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Knowledge of payroll management systems and payroll tax regulations.
  • Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills).
  • Strong analytical skills for account analysis and credit assessment; excellent math skills for accurate calculations.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and explaining complex financial data clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with public accounting practices and non-profit accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and maintaining the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
  • Perform account reconciliations for balance sheets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Process payroll using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and tax requirements.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently to support cash flow management.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards when applicable.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account analysis.
  • Support internal controls and compliance efforts related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and other regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to budgeting, financial analysis, and tax preparation activities as needed.
