Requirements

  • One year as an Accountant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.
  • A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare budgets, monitor balances, and provide financial updates to support decisions
  • Prepare statements and worksheets for special funds and monthly reviews
  • Participate in audits, review fiscal operations, and prepare findings reports
  • Review invoices, assign codes, and resolve vendor and purchase order issues
  • Maintain journals, supervise staff entries, and ensure accurate account postings
  • Identify hazards, report incidents, and follow general safety rules
