About The Position
Under limited supervision, the Accountant 2 supports more experienced personnel by performing accounting assignments of moderately difficult to complex nature that require broad knowledge of accounting theory and principles. The role supports forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, and the development and maintenance of accounting policies and fiscal controls. It also processes member account transactions and assists with month-end journal entries, reconciliations, audit preparation, and financial systems and process implementation. The Accountant 2 collaborates with internal teams and provides functional and technical direction to other staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Provide support for forecasting, budgeting, and analysis of variations from budget.
- Establish and maintain accounting policies and fiscal controls, and prepare financial reports.
- Assist with the organization’s budgeting and financial reporting process to improve financial performance and efficiency.
- Assist department leaders with budget-to-actual variance analysis.
- Provide functional and technical direction to other staff members.
- Provide technical support to outside auditors and governmental program auditors as requested.
- Support and help lead the build-out and implementation of new financial systems and processes.
- Process daily transactions for member accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely posting.
- Assist with month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare work papers and reports for the annual financial statement audit as requested.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support seamless financial operations and reporting.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
