About The Position

The Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) is searching for an Accountant 2 to join their Office of Financial Management (OFM) team. This position will handle the financial activities of PSERS Hybrid Plan including the new Defined Contribution (DC) Plan investments under Act 5. This role is responsible for the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation, analysis, classification, and reporting of various investment account activities of the plan. Requirements

• One year as an Accountant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
• Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.
• A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
• You must meet the PA residency requirement.
• You must be able to perform Essential Functions as presented in the linked Position Description.
• A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.

Responsibilities

• Review reports received from Third Party Administrator
• Submit weekly reports for funds transferred to DC
• Perform monthly reconciliations on investments
• Log month-end journal entries for Hybrid Plan including Defined Contribution plan
• Ensure accruals are posted correctly each quarter-end
