About The Position

Accountant 1 will perform entry level professional accounting duties with concentration in one or more areas to include General Accounting, Risk Management/Employee Benefits and Budget & Plant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Compile/verify figures for various financial, statistical and budget reports such as balance sheets, income statements, statistical, annual, budget and pension reports. Prepare journal entries for recording information to general ledger. Assist in reconciling general ledger/budget accounts to detail records; make necessary correcting entries. Prepare portions of TVA monthly financial report, monthly reports of TVA insulation loan accounts, annual reports for TVA, financial information for AGA, pension computations and actuary reports and various other reports. Assist in the development/implementation of less complex procedures for new accounting and/or budgeting procedures. Maintain daily accounting detail information for entry to the general ledger and budget; maintain/control information related to pension payroll. Prepare various reports and special studies as required. Perform other duties as directed. THIS LIST OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE AND MAY BE SUPPLEMENTED AS NECESSARY

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license from state of residence is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in accounting is required.
