The Office of Financial Management of the State Employees' Retirement System (SERS) is seeking a self-motivated and organized accountant to join their defined benefit plan team in the General Accounting and Defined Contribution Plans Division (GADCP). This position plays a key role in performing general accounting duties for the Defined Benefit Plan, assisting with the processing of routine transactions such as employer/member contribution payments and cash activity. The role involves recording and classifying ledger transactions, processing contributions, performing daily cash movement tasks, preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and compiling financial information for reports and surveys. SERS, established in 1923, manages pension benefits for over 246,000 employees and retirees, paying over $4.0 billion in benefits and managing nearly $50 billion in assets.
