About The Position

Under direct supervision, performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions, such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll preparation, budget monitoring or related general accounting processes. All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Distribution site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.

Nice To Haves

Three years or more purchasing/procurement experience
One year or more general accounting experience
Three years or more accounts payable experience
Knowledge of relevant accounting software

Responsibilities

Travels up to 25-50 percent (with possible daily travel depending on needs) to all locations and performs physical inventory of fixed assets at for health departments and programs
Manages Fixed Assets to include monthly entry, annual depreciation, transfers and disposals
Conducts cash audits, semi-annual cash audits of all health departments and cash entities
Verifies and prepares volunteer payroll by using excel spreadsheet
Oversees gift card maintenance
Oversees Health Department budgets
Manages expense claims closings
Back up to accounts payable
Assists with month-end closeouts
Assists with year-end closeouts
Assists District Administrator and finance team with additional duties as assigned
