About The Position

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for an Accountant. This position will provide accounting transaction support to the Fiscal Liaison & Support Section. Responsible for preparing and processing accounts receivable transactions to include state property damage, vendor overpayments, miscellaneous invoicing and ensuring the transactions are billed timely and recorded in the financial system. Process other accounting transactions such as accounts payable, journals, IUJS, wires, and daily deposits. Responsible for performing account and system reconciliations. Requirements

  • 4 years of related financial experience; OR a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting
  • Effectively organize workload and prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities to meet established deadlines
  • Ability to analyze situations and procedures to make the correct accounting determination
