The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking two Administrative Project Managers (NM) to serve as Accountable Managers (AM) for the Wastewater Capital Program (WWCP). This role involves overseeing and supporting the design and construction of major capital projects for various wastewater resource recovery facilities (WRRFs), wastewater pump stations, and Superfund CSO programs. The AMs will direct the planning, design, and construction of these projects, ensuring they meet DEP's future wastewater treatment requirements. The selected candidates will have broad scope for independent initiative and judgment, being responsible for achieving project goals and milestones, and ensuring all work products conform to the scope of work. They will also prepare, negotiate, and process modifications to consultant contracts, provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to subordinates, motivate employees, approve time and leave, evaluate staff, and determine staffing requirements. A key focus will be ensuring Environmental Health & Safety is incorporated throughout the project lifecycle and maintaining strong client service to the operating bureaus. The AMs will be responsible for implementing project delivery procedures, coordinating with support divisions (Project Controls, Permit Resource, Sustainability, Contracts Support), and communicating seamlessly with Agency Bureaus, other City and State Agencies, and key stakeholders. They must be capable of quickly recognizing project needs, providing sustained effort from conception to completion, focusing on issue resolution and risk mitigation, managing project delivery quality, and managing staff efficiently for project staffing and professional growth. Continuous monitoring of key performance indicators (Scope, Schedule, Budget) is also required. The AMs will report directly to the Deputy Portfolio Manager.
