About The Position

This is a grant funded employment contract position. Employment is contingent upon the continued receipt of adequate annual grant funding. Selected candidates will be contracted employees with the terms and conditions of such employment set forth in a contract between BSO and the selected candidates. Contract employees will not be entitled to the same rights and benefits as permanent employees. BSO shall have the right to modify pay or benefits at any time due to the increased benefit costs, budgetary or grant funding reductions or other fiscal problems/restraints. In addition, the contract can be terminated at any time for any reason. Under direction, the purpose of the position is to coordinate tasks related to the evaluation of various programs within the Department of Detention and Community Programs. Employees in this classification provide senior management with recommendations to enhance the accountability of existing programs and procedures. Position performs evaluations, inspections and analysis of existing programs and procedures related to administrative initiatives, program areas and contracted services. Position prepares formal reports of all findings and provides recommendations for promoting increased efficiency and effectiveness based upon such findings. Performs related work as directed.

Requirements

  • Must be a current BSO employee who has successfully completed their probationary period by the listed closing date.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, or closely related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience with demonstrated ability in the collection, analysis and presentation of data.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform analytical and statistical functions from raw source material.
  • Strong working knowledge of analytical software required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license throughout employment without any restrictions which affect job performance.

  • Peer Specialist Certification preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Performs evaluations, inspections and analysis of existing programs and procedures related to administrative initiatives, program areas and contracted services.
  • Coordinates and participates in accountability initiatives and activities, to include collection and analysis of data, assistance in the preparation of presentation information and follow-up.
  • Evaluates and ensures compliance with agency polices and procedures and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Based upon data analysis, develops the queries that are reviewed at administrative review sessions to evaluate each command's activities.
  • Identifies and prepares analysis on incident patterns and activities; prepares reports and summaries detailing findings.
  • Reviews and processes DOD Event Reports and Jail Occurrence reports
  • Conducts or participates in reviews, investigations and management studies.
  • Conducts benchmarking information and analysis studies within the field of corrections and law enforcement.
  • Prepares formal written reports based on findings to include explanation of objectives, scope of examination, methodology and procedures, recommendations and presentation exhibits.
  • Submits report findings to senior management for the purpose of allowing management review and resolution of inaccuracies prior to finalizing audit reports.
  • Reviews all Department of Detention related data including monthly reports and primary indicator reports.
  • Evaluates and ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Assists in identifying scope, objectives, and methodologies for the purpose of developing and implementing appropriate accountability initiatives, procedures and schedules.
  • Develops statistical data consisting of pre-determined primary indicators.
  • Prepares charts, pin mapping and graphs for presentations and specialized command reviews.
  • Performs related duties as directed.
