About The Position

RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. This hybrid or remote position requires coordinating the production of client materials and maintaining positive customer relations throughout the manufacturing process. The role involves translating customer requirements into manufacturing instructions, suggesting process improvements, performing quality reviews, and ensuring jobs are accurately entered into production systems. The Account Specialist will communicate with customers regarding job status, changes, and issue resolution, and may also provide pre-sales support and assist with RFPs. Key duties include monitoring job progress, verifying final product quality, and preparing documentation for billing. Specific platform duties may involve determining supplies, assisting sales with estimates, and potentially handling composition or copy prep. The role may also involve mentoring junior staff or working on special projects.

Requirements

HS diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant administrative/operational support in manufacturing operations or office environment directly related to the duties of the job.
Excellent knowledge of functional area(s) related to the job or good knowledge related to a professional field of work.
Advanced knowledge of technology including computers and software programs such as MS Office or MAC word processing, spreadsheets or other programs specific to the job.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustments to meet business needs.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Engage customers to gather job requirements and translate them into detailed manufacturing/kitting instructions and shipping/postal instructions.
Make suggestions to customers regarding workflow/process improvements.
Provide quality review for other Account Specialists.
Ensure job instructions are entered and verified in manufacturing or procurement systems and queued into the production schedule.
Confer with customers throughout production to keep them informed of job status, solicit additional information, and coordinate changes.
Forward/review proofs with customers, obtain approval of materials.
Coordinate production of components with other internal plants and/or external vendors.
Coordinate the resolution of customer or manufacturing issues.
Engage appropriate departments to verify issues and determine root causes.
Make recommendations to management on appropriate responses to issues.
Communicate with customers regarding the resolution of issues.
Provide pre-sales support with customers and discuss manufacturing capabilities and requirements.
Monitor progress of jobs throughout production, confer with manufacturing operations on counts and final runs, and ensure the final product meets customer requirements and company standards.
Tally final production runs and work performed to assemble paperwork for billing purposes.
Mentor junior level staff or work on special projects.
Determine supplies and paper needed for jobs, including the use of vendors.
Assist sales in the RFP process supplying estimates and determining how to efficiently process a complete job.
Perform composition and/or copy prep of the customers products.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
