About The Position

The Account Specialist will be the direct contact for key stakeholders to communicate the value proposition and be the main executor of the infield brand strategy. This role involves developing customer relationships whilst maximizing opportunities based on strong account plans. The primary focus is on customer selling and relationship management to drive sales by owning the customer engagement for target HCPs across channels, reflecting customer preferences and leveraging available content and multiple engagement channels. The role requires developing SMART pre-call objectives aligned to brand strategy, effectively handling objections, and consistently closing sales calls with a clear call to action. Developing peer-to-peer relationships with customers is key to fostering productive discussions and challenging the status quo. The Account Specialist will educate medical providers, other relevant decision-makers, and affiliated healthcare professionals, while identifying and developing disease state experts to build advocacy aligned with the territory plan. Continuous market intelligence gathering and organizing/managing stakeholder meetings are also crucial. The role requires differentiating AbbVie's value proposition from competitors and demonstrating strong communication skills with the ability to adapt style based on customer insights. A deep understanding of the product and its place within the local NHS healthcare economy, along with the ability to navigate NHS ecosystem barriers and identify opportunities for collaborative results, is essential. Sharing best practices to enhance business success and proactively initiating, developing, and implementing a growth plan are also key components. The role demands in-depth disease, product, market, and competitive intelligence expertise, along with a deep understanding of the multi-stakeholder environment. Territory management involves continuously analyzing sales reports (CRM etc.) and overlaying field intelligence to adapt the territory plan, collaborating closely with medical and market access colleagues, and developing a business plan for the territory in line with brand strategy. Effectively targeting and tracking resources to maximize sales opportunities and adhering to industry and AbbVie compliance requirements are mandatory.
