About The Position

The Middle Markets Sales team is responsible for retaining existing membership and driving new business growth within the medium-to-large employer segment. The Account Service Representative, Consultant reports to the Senior Service Manager and plays a role in supporting a portfolio of fast growing, high visibility technology employer groups. In this role, the Account Service Consultant acts as a strategic service partner, proactively anticipating client needs, navigating, and resolving complex issues with speed, and safeguarding the overall client experience. You will work collaboratively with other team members to assist employers, and their employees navigate their healthcare needs. Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Requires 7 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires a CA Accident & Health or Sickness and Life License or the ability to obtain the license within 90 days of hire date
  • Requires experience supporting and servicing technology, AI, or similarly fast paced industries
  • Requires advanced proficiency with digital communication tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, recording and editing presentations, Microsoft Office Suite, Copilot, Calendly, Vimeo, and Salesforce)
  • Requires a working knowledge of the high‑tech (AI) industry, including current trends, emerging technologies, business priorities, workforce needs, and culture, and apply this knowledge to develop effective solutions for clients and brokers
  • Working knowledge of health plan operations, benefits administration, claims processing HRIS platforms and the ability to engage credibly with HR, Finance, and executive level client and broker stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Deliver concierge level for a dedicated portfolio of high-tech employer groups with elevated expectations for speed, accuracy, and professionalism
  • Proactively mitigate service risk by leveraging reporting, CRM insights, and issue history to identify trends and early warning signals, coordinating with cross functional partners to implement timely, end to end solutions
  • Strategically leverage awareness of healthcare and technology industry trends to strengthen the Blue Shield of California value proposition, aligning market insights to the evolving priorities of high growth and enterprise clients
  • Support onboarding and post implementation stabilization for new high-tech clients, emphasizing clarity, self-service enablement, and minimal abrasion
  • Design and deliver custom presentations for open enrollment and member education initiatives, including promotional campaigns, that provide creative, client centric solutions aligned to member needs
  • Create and document best practices, workflows, and repeatable service models that allow the role to scale across similar client profiles
  • Facilitate and lead open enrollment, administrative, and health fair meetings for high growth clients, engaging directly with members to navigate complex benefit questions and deliver a seamless, trusted experience
  • Actively participate in RFP and finalist presentations as a subject matter expert, clearly conveying the Blue Shield of California service model and value-added programs aligned to enterprise and high-tech client needs
  • Build strong relationships with key brokers and clients by deeply understanding their priorities, serving as a trusted advisor, and proactively guiding them through complex decisions
