About The Position

The Account Operations Director will lead, direct, and manage site operations to ensure that operations staff execute service agreements at or above the client's standards. This role is responsible for maximizing profitability through superior client service, effective communication, and prompt follow-up on all client matters. The Director will plan and monitor daily staffing schedules, adjusting as needed to ensure adequate staffing levels that support operational demands and business objectives. This position manages revenue and expenses to budget constraints, trains, develops, and motivates employees, and oversees the financial aspects of the department, including purchasing, budget preparation and review, financial reporting, and expense monitoring. The role also includes overseeing accounts receivable, processing vendor invoices, analyzing market trends for strategic operations practices, and executing applicable KPIs per company standards. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in the logistics/freight forwarding industry.
  • 5 or more years of supervisory or management experience.
  • 6 - 8 years industry experience required.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web based and job specific software applications.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both clients and internal personnel.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct and manage site operations to ensure that the operations staff executes service agreements at, or above the client's standards.
  • Maximize profitability through superior client service, effective and prompt communications and follow-up on all pending matters with the client.
  • Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules, and adjusts accordingly to ensure adequate staffing levels that support operational demands and business objectives.
  • Manage revenue and expenses to budget constraints.
  • Responsible to train, develop and motivate employees to peak performance and growth in their knowledge and responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage the financial aspects of the department (purchasing, budget preparation and review, financial reporting, and monitoring expenses).
  • Oversee accounts receivable, including client invoicing and collections, as needed.
  • Process incoming vendor invoices (cost of transportation and overhead expenses), as needed.
  • Analyze market trends to further develop scalable and strategic operations practices.
  • Execution of the applicable KPI’s per company standard.
  • Other duties as assigned.
