About The Position

This position exists to provide exceptional member service and advise members on the best products and services to ensure a good overall financial health. This position is responsible for onboarding new members, preparation of loan applications, making recommendations to proper lending authorities, and decisions per lending policy.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years similar or related experience.
  • Ability to receive and disburse funds in an accurate manner.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Professional, pleasant, and outgoing personality.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Knowledge of all laws and regulations regarding this position.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to sell.
  • Team player.
  • Knowledge of credit union operations.
  • Knowledge/ability to use various computer programs.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Compliance and Regulatory (BSA, OFAC, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Disburse loan proceeds.
  • Open and close accounts.
  • Receive and review loan and account applications.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to recognize potential fraudulent activities, take proactive measures to prevent and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain highly proficient & comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Ensure all proper documentation is collected before completion of loan or product for member.
  • Analyze credit reports and educate members on reports.
  • Provide sound financial coaching to members.
  • Maintain satisfactory ratings of sales goals.
  • Abide by lending authority as designated by policy.
  • Effectively communicate account and loan decisions to members.
  • Produce and archive documents efficiently and with accuracy.
  • Perform all teller duties successfully.
  • Actively and thoughtfully communicating with their supervisor, planning their goals and development, taking accountability for their actions, and striving for excellence.
  • Promote products and services.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Maintain clean and professional work area and appearance.
  • Maintain positive public relations and promote credit union within the community.
  • Complete educational programs as required.
  • Make a good first impression, be dressed professionally and greet people with a smile and a firm handshake.

  • Answer the telephone by the third ring.
  • Call people by name and thank them.
  • Give people my full and undivided attention; focus on the person face to face and on the telephone.

  • Deliver on commitments of action(s) to be taken, so excuses won't be necessary.
  • Follow through on necessary action(s) to be sure the problem is solved.
