About The Position

The Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers while driving account growth across Barnhart's lifting, rigging, transportation, and specialized project services. This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring customers receive exceptional service and innovative solutions that support their operational needs. Working closely with operations, engineering, and field teams, the Account Manager identifies opportunities within existing customer relationships, coordinates solution development, and helps ensure successful project execution. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, commercial awareness, and a commitment to delivering long-term value for customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in account management, business development, sales, construction, industrial services, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand technical solutions and project requirements.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Ability to perform jobsite visits, including outdoor work and climbing when necessary.
  • Ability to pass a fit-for-duty examination.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in crane and rigging, transportation, construction, manufacturing, industrial services, or related industries.
  • Experience managing strategic customer accounts and long-term business relationships.
  • Familiarity with estimating, proposal development, and project coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and increase account engagement.
  • Meet regularly with customers to understand business needs, project requirements, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Conduct jobsite visits and customer meetings to support project planning and solution development.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and field teams to develop safe, effective, and value-driven solutions.
  • Prepare and present proposals, service offerings, and account reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Support contract renewals, repeat business opportunities, and long-term account growth initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate customer, project, and opportunity information within company systems.
  • Promote a strong commitment to safety throughout project planning and execution activities.
