About The Position

Martindale-Avvo Leads Division is seeking a sales-oriented, consultative Account Manager to retain and grow a book of approximately 200 legal clients. The role involves acting as a trusted advisor, onboarding new clients for long-term success, conducting data-driven performance reviews, and driving revenue through strategic upsells while proactively minimizing churn. The ideal candidate will leverage AI-assisted insights to measure ROI, identify opportunities, and recommend optimizations. Collaboration with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams is essential for issue escalation, feedback sharing, and improving the client experience. Maintaining accurate CRM records and preparing clear reports for leadership are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

  • Understand the use of AI tools to work more efficiently, identify account opportunities faster, and spend more time on high-value client interactions.
  • 3+ years in account management, client success, or consultative sales—experience with legal industry clients strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a portfolio of accounts.
  • Comfortable with numbers and using data to drive recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, client-first mentality.
  • Organized, self-directed, and able to prioritize across a large book of business.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to translate data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Measurable upsell/cross-sell revenue and growth in client lifetime value.
  • Strong client satisfaction and adoption metrics (NPS, product usage, goal attainment).
  • Consistent, timely delivery of performance reviews and action plans.

  • Familiarity with Martindale-Avvo products or similar legal marketing platforms
  • Experience with Salesforce (or similar CRM) and email tools such as Outreach

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of approximately 200 law-firm and legal-service clients, building strong, long-term relationships.
  • Onboard new clients: set up accounts, establish goals, and ensure successful adoption of products/services.
  • Conduct regular, data-driven performance reviews, leveraging AI-assisted insights where appropriate to measure ROI, identify opportunities, and recommend optimizations.
  • Drive revenue growth through consultative upselling and cross-selling of relevant Martindale-Avvo solutions.
  • Proactively monitor client health signals and intervene to prevent churn.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Marketing to escalate issues, share feedback, and improve the client experience.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM and prepare clear reporting for leadership.
